Ray - Lead Pastor

Pastor Ray is originally from Southern California where he attended Biola University majoring in Biblical Studies. From Biola, he went to Talbot and Dallas Theological Seminary earning a Masters in Divinity and a Masters in Sacred Theology. More recently, he has completed his Doctorate in Ministry at Trinity Divinity Evangelical School. In addition to his academic history, Pastor Ray has extensive ministry experience in second generation Korean American and multiethnic ministries.

He began as a youth pastor in Southern California, then moved to an internship at First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton under the pastoral leadership of Chuck Swindoll. It was there that Pastor Ray was ordained and received his call to Korean Central Presbyterian Church as their English ministry pastor. He served there for three years from 1993-1996. Afterwards, he planted a multi-ethnic church, Ambassador Bible Church, in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. In 2000, Ray moved back to Southern California to the same church where Pastor Ray did his internship, EV Free Fullerton to become the Outreach Pastor. In 2003, Pastor Ray planted his second church, Ambassador Church in Brea.

Pastor Ray is married to Sun Joo Chang and they have twin daughters, Kristen and Karissa.

Ethan - Associate Pastor

Ethan oversees much of the small group ministries, church events, outreach ministries and global missions, as well as shepherding the members of Ambassador. He has been serving at Ambassador since 2007.

He also serves one weekend a month as a Chaplain in the California Air National Guard at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, CA. He graduated from Biola in 1994 and got his Masters of Divinity from Talbot in 2001.

Ethan is married to Laura and have two children, Charis and Elias.

Melodie – Ministry Associate

Melodie oversees many of the women of Ambassador Church. She is passionate about seeing women grow deeper in their relationship with God and with one another.

Melodie is finishing up her degree in Christian Ministries at Wayland Baptist University. She is married to Josh and has worked beside him in ministry since 2001. They have 3 boys, Ethan, Ryun, and Aiden. She has been serving at Ambassador since February 2008.

Ben - Worship Pastor

Ben grew up loving music, and can be found leading worship at our Sunday morning service. Another area of ministry that Ben is gifted in is on developing creative elements and stage sets for each of our sermon series.

As the worship pastor, Ben feels that “The thing I would love to concentrate on is being: simple (not complicated), true, and honest worshipers of Jesus, both on Sunday and throughout the week. Words that describe simple, true, and honest worshipers: joy, passion, grace, servant, trust, faithfulness, and love.”

Paul – Connection Pastor

Paul manages much of the Ambassador’s connection and operation ministry. In every area of ministry, Paul desires to bring stability and efficiency in order to allow the church to accomplish its mission. He graduated with a B.A. from Vanguard University and is currently studying for a Masters of Divinity at Talbot School of Theology.

Paul is married to Tiffany and has a  son named Darren. He feels that his family is his life’s greatest gift and ministry entrusted to him. He hopes to continually grow, not only as a pastor, but also as a husband and father.

Wilson - Young Adult/College Pastor

Wilson is a natural extrovert and pretty much likes everyone he meets. He is not very responsible when it comes to tasks but he is when it comes to people. He is honest when angry and doesn’t cry much in life except when watching movies made by Pixar.

He loves to preach as a hobby, as a job, and as a gig, but mostly because he deeply believes that God’s Word breathes life into people’s lives. He leads the young adult ministries at Ambassador, as well as, works with Campus Crusade for Christ at Cal State Fullerton and plans to plant a church through Ambassador in the coming future.

Daniel – Children’s Ministry Pastor

Daniel cares for the children of Ambassador from infant to 5th grade. He graduated with a B.A. from Biola University and is currently two classes away from his second credential in education from Cal State Long Beach. He also works with Child Evangelism Fellowship in planting Bible clubs within public schools.

Daniel’s desire is to come alongside parents during their child’s pivotal years in the endeavor to raise Godly children. His passion is to see families grow together in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Daniel is married to Jennifer and has two girls Alyssa and Sarah.

Shannon – Children’s Ministry Assistant

Shannon grew up in Northern California, in a small town called Castro Valley but came down to Southern California to attend school at Biola University where she majored in Intercultural Studies. During the summers in between the school years, she was able to work at Ponderosa Pines Christian Camp in Running Springs. There, she felt God changed her life and gave her a passion to serve her church, her community, and youths.

In addition to serving at Ambassador Church, she also works part-time in Costa Mesa with special needs children.
